FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I really need therapy?
Everyone suffers at some point in their life in many different forms. You may have been able to successfully navigate those times before but maybe what used to work, doesn't anymore. There should be NO shame in seeking support no matter the size of the issue or the depth of the pain and difficulty- we all deserve compassion and community when we need it. In fact, therapy is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a bit more of something. By seeking help, you are taking responsibility for yourself and your situation by trying to make a change. Therapy can provide long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to find better relationship to self and others.
Is therapy right for me?
You won't know until you try. My goal is to work together to provide a better template to move throughout your life outside of therapy. Some people seek therapy because they are in the midst of a major life transition and are having a hard time managing their stressors. Others may be experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting conflicts, low self-esteem, and "not enough-ness". Therapy can be longterm or short term depending on the need- some clients need actionable skills and others may need consistent space to explore their inner worlds with someone else as witness. In short, people seeking therapy are ready to meet the issues in their lives head on with curiosity and without judgement.
